Man of the Word

And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2

The purpose of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Men's Ministries is to promote the exercise of both physical and spiritual gifts through outreaches primarily to missionaries and church planters and through service at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. The Man of the Word Program provides the additional dimension of promoting personal discipline and growth in each man's spiritual life through the reading and memorizing of Scripture in a systematic manner.

Our next Man-of-the-Word (MOW) cycle will begin on Saturday, August 30, at 7 a.m. with an hour of prayer as well as prayer times for teens and pre-teens with their dads at 7:30 and 7:40 respectively. Breakfast will be at 8:00 a.m. followed by a short meeting at 8:30.

The theme for this cycle is The Glory of Christ:  Finding Christ to be All I Need with a focus on the book of Colossians. We will be reading The Glory of Christ by John Owen. It is available in our bookstore for $14.50. The manual for this cycle will include weekly reminders and testimonies written by men from our church. It will be available in the bookstore soon for $2 and will also be available as a pdf to those who want it electronically.

Prayer breakfasts for this cycle will be on August 30, October 4, and November 8.

Please take advantage of the privilege of having a prayer partner. You can choose your own (no problem to request the same one you had last time) or allow us to match you up with another man.
