Man of the Word
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2
The purpose of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Men's Ministries is to promote the exercise of both physical and spiritual gifts through outreaches primarily to missionaries and church planters and through service at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. The Man of the Word Program provides the additional dimension of promoting personal discipline and growth in each man's spiritual life through the reading and memorizing of Scripture in a systematic manner.
Our next Man-of-the-Word (MOW) cycle will begin on Saturday, January 31, at 7 a.m. with an hour of prayer as well as prayer times for teens and pre-teens with their dads at 7:30 and 7:40 respectively. Breakfast will be at 8:00 a.m. followed by a short meeting at 8:30.
The theme for this cycle is Battling Sins of the Mind. We will be reading The Mortification of Sin by John Owen. It is available in our bookstore for $7.50. It will be available in the bookstore soon for $2 and will also be available as a pdf to those who want it electronically.
Prayer breakfasts for this cycle will be on January 31 and March 14. On April 10-11 we will have a Men's Outing at the WILDS.
Please take advantage of the privilege of having a prayer partner. You can choose your own (no problem to request the same one you had last time) or allow us to match you up with another man.
You may sign up by registering here.
