Man of the Word
And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2
Man of the Word (MOW)
The purpose of the Mount Calvary Baptist Church Men's Ministries is to promote the exercise of both physical and spiritual gifts through outreaches primarily to missionaries and church planters and through service at Mount Calvary Baptist Church. The Man of the Word Program provides the additional dimension of promoting personal discipline and growth in each man's spiritual life through the reading and memorizing of Scripture in a systematic manner.
Our next Man-of-the-Word (MOW) cycle will begin on Saturday, January 28, at 7:00 a.m. with an hour of prayer for the men, prayer at 7:30 for teens and 7:40 for boys. Breakfast will be at 8:00, and then a meeting from 8:30-9:00.
The theme for this cycle is Discipleship by Doctrine: Testimonies of Treasuring and Transferring theTruth. We will be reading Five English Reformers by J. C. Ryle. It is available in our bookstore for $8.50. If you have already read Ryle's work, you might consider Leland Ryken's Worldly Saints: The Puritans as They Really Were ($14.50). The manual will be available free as a pdf (below) and printed copies ($1.50) will be available in the bookstore.
Prayer breakfasts for this cycle will be on January 28, March 4, and April 8.
Please take advantage of the privilege of having a prayer partner. You can choose your own (no problem to request the same one you had last time) or allow us to match you up with another man.
You may sign up by registering here. As you register, please indicate whether or not you desire to have a prayer partner assigned to you.
