Summary: On January 4, 2011, GFA missionaries Daniel and Jennifer Arnold and their two children, Caleb and Lucy, flew to Germany. As they approach their one-year mark of being on the field, we can look back and see how the Lord has answered many prayers. First, He provided an apartment for them after a month-long search and shortly before the arrival of their container. Second, the Lord granted the Arnolds' temporary residency permits in May after some obstacles. Third, the Lord has helped them work toward two of their primary goals this first year: language study and acclimation to the culture. Jenn completed six months of language school and passed her language proficiency test required by law. Both Daniel and Jennifer will continue to take language classes. Caleb has picked up a lot of German in his kindergarten class, and Lucy is learning from German friends. Fourth, the Lord has answered prayer in opening up their neighbors' hearts to spiritual things. The Lord has also given both Daniel and Jennifer opportunities to share Christ with other students in language school.

The Arnolds currently minister with Jeff Brown, a missionary church planter in Nürnberg. Daniel began a choir in the spring and this summer they helped with outreach ministries. They also assisted with a sacred music recording. Both Daniel and Jenn teach in children's church. After language school, the Arnolds plan to plant a church in eastern Germany, continue to assist in producing conservative Christian music in German, and support Camp Impact, directed by Kevin Matthia. Pray for the Arnolds' renewal of their residency permits this month, their language acquisition, and the salvation and discipleship of their children.
